Southern cuisine restaurant in Lowell, NC.
Molly and I have made a habit of visiting some of the most Southern places we can find, both near home and when we’re traveling. As two native North Carolinians, we have a deep respect and appreciation for the “country” cooking indigenous to our slice of the country.

I’ve had some buffet type food in North Carolina and was not impressed. Very bland. That is, until I went to Grits and Greens Thursday night for that wonderful banquet .
Mario and the rest of the gang are just incredibly wonderful; very talented, sweet, smart, and has some of the best ‘country family’ food I’ve ever had in Gaston County. I would think your mac & cheese was from a high-end restaurant.. it was amazing! I highly encourage people to come here!

Don’t walk, RUN down to Grits and Greens in Lowell! It was INCREDIBLE!!! The Soul Rolls- whoever thought to mix collard greens, macaroni and cheese, and barbecue chicken together, wrap it in a wonton wrapper, deep fry it, and dip it in mushroom gravy is a genius!!! For entrees, I got the 2 meat combo (chicken fried chicken and country style steak) with macaroni and cheese and broccoli casserole with cornbread- sensational!!! Then my husband had the sunrise burger, with a fried egg, which he said was awesome! The portions were huge and well worth the price, we took 2 full to-go boxes of food home with us! The sweet tea was very good too! The service was great, our waitress, BreAnna, was very sweet and attentive! My final praise is that they give an incredible military discount- I always appreciate places that appreciate our troops! Overall, I think it is more than safe to say we have a new favorite restaurant and will definitely be back!!!
