Belmont, N.C. – Nellie’s Southern Kitchen will be filling 75-100 positions leading up to its opening. Kevin Jonas Sr. is opening the highly anticipated restaurant in downtown Belmont, NC, as a tribute to the Jonas family – a clan that can trace its North Carolina roots all the way back to the 1760s.
The restaurant is filling front of house and back of house positions including hosts, bartenders, servers, cooks, baristas, cashiers, server assistants and dishwashers. Restaurant experience is a plus but not a requirement.
Interested candidates are invited to visit the Stowe Building (100 N. Main St. Belmont, NC 28012), Monday, April 25 – Friday, April 29 and Monday, May 2 – Friday, May 6, 10 am – 4 pm, fill out an application and meet with the Nellie’s management team.
Nellie’s started the hiring process last fall, when approximately 150 people auditioned to be part of the staff. Jonas, an artist manager, singer, songwriter and entrepreneur, conducted the successful auditions for musicians, singers and performers who can also serve guests.

Nellie’s Southern Kitchen is a family-owned restaurant that pays tribute to the idea of family heritage. Musician and entertainer Kevin Jonas (father of the Jonas Brothers) was inspired to open an eatery in his hometown of Belmont, N.C. to honor his roots. Executive Chef Ben Sholiton developed the Southern-inspired menu featuring Jonas family recipes. Emily Pentecost serves as pastry chef. Live music and entertainment will also be part of the experience.
Nellie’s Southern Kitchen will serve lunch and dinner in a 10,000-square-foot space. Jonas’ sister Joy Auten will serve as Managing Director and cousin Danielle Davison Jonas will serve as Operations Manager. The restaurant, named for Jonas’ late grandmother, is at 36 N. Main St. in downtown Belmont.
